WHAT IS REACTIVATOR?

Reactivator is a blend of solvents similar to the ones used in the industrial quick dry ink you are using for your application.  The reactivator is used to replace the solvents that evaporate from the ink in the pad over time.

HOW DO I USE REACTIVATOR?

When your pad becomes dry or sticky, for the first few applications you will add additional ink.

After your 3rd or 4th ink application you will then add the Reactivator.  The Reactivator should be added and worked into the pad for a continuous quality impression.  You can "work" in the ink with a small spatula or piece of plastic.

When the pad becomes sticky again you add more reactivator.  As the impression becomes faint you add more ink to your pad.

HOW MUCH REACTIVATOR DO I USE?

This has a lot of variables; where the pad is stored, is it closed, what kind of ink is used, ect.  The best action is to add a few drops and then add more if needed.

WHAT IS RETARDER?

Retarder is another word for reactivator.

CAN I USE THE SAME REACTIVATOR FOR DIFFERENT INKS?

In most circumstances, NO.  It does depend on the inks and what reactivator you have.  You can contact us and we will advise on the correct reactivator needed for your ink.

IS THERE A INK REMOVER OR CLEANER?

Yes, the reactivator is also used as a cleaner.  It is recommended that you clean your stamp after every use to avoid ink build up.  DO NOT SOAK YOUR STAMP IN REACTIVATOR.

An old toothbrush works great; dab the toothbrush in the reactivator, scrub over the stamp a few times and wipe with a cloth.  It is recommended to have a separate dish for this process.

On band stamps it is important to clean bands but also under the bands on the bridge, as the ink will dry and the bands will stick to the bridge and then break when you try to rotate the bands.

Reactivator is also used to remove unwanted markings off a stamped surface.

AS WITH ANY CHEMICAL-USE CAUTION.  KEEP THIS AND ALL CHEMICALS AWAY FROM YOUR EYES - USE ONLY AS DIRECTED - USE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA.  DO NOT INJEST THIS OR ANY OTHER CHEMICAL.  KEEP ALL CHEMICALS AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND STORE SECURELY AS DIRECTLY BY THE MSDS.  KEEP MSDS SHEETS ON HAND FOR REFERENCE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY.
